How does the chain of connections start? Well, Connections.Media picks someone we feel drawn to hold space for. Like anything, it is a feeling in your gut, something you just have to reach out and begin. Then we follow the journey from there, as one person picks the next, based on the conversation that took place on that day, in that moment. After 5 conversations a theme reveals itself, and a chain is complete.

“Think about where this would be headed if everybody could wake up sooner and understand, or at least let that little sliver of light in. It doesn’t have to be a FULL ON understanding, just having that little bit is helpful in the fabric of us. Everything is much more acceptable than it used to be. It’s a lot different now than it was when I was a kid, but that struggle is always going to exist. I mean yeah, be who you want to be, but you still have this box around you. I just think that’s the NATURE of our society. Like, why does my daughter say to me, ‘Mom that’s weird’ when I say or do something that’s not normal? Why does she even think that? It’s not anything I’ve taught her, it’s just something that she’s picked up on being a kid in this world.”
I have a lot on my mind and a lot to say these days.
“Until my parents died, I was 100% earth, ego, brain related. I had no knowledge of my own soul, let alone astrology. It took raw exposure to get there. Complete, unadulterated RIPPING open of the curtains exposure, and I was there. It’s only grown since then. It gave me a better understanding of how asleep people are, because I was one. I fully believe now that it was intended to happen that way, however RAW and crazy it was when it unfolded. I fully believe that it was on purpose. And it’s only been a few years, so it’s still unfolding for me. I would still call it new.”
Courtney Dyer prides herself on being honest and direct in her interactions with others. She earned an English degree at the College of Charleston to better understand the words of others and improve her own methods of connecting.
Recently, she turned that value of communication inwards and upwards, and found a new focus in her life: astrology. She uses astrology as a means to better understand herself, her loved ones, and the movements and patterns present in both the universe and humanity.
While Courtney’s astrological studies have given her insight and answers to questions she never expected to ask, they have also shown her just how much she didn’t know about herself before, and she hasn’t always liked what she has learned. However, she does not let fear and discomfort hold her back, and continues to seek answers in the stars, and in her own inner wisdom.
“At first it was tough. At first I thought, ‘what are people going to think about me? I can’t tell anybody I think like this, Can I?’ Now I’m like, whatever. It’s taken me awhile to come out of my shell. Before I thought, ‘what are they gonna think? You know, I can’t have these conversations with them anymore,’ So I just don’t hang around with them any more. Now that I’ve gotten to this point it just is what it is. I have just achieved a certain COMFORT level and enough things have clicked into place, and once they click into place you get closer and closer to opening the door and saying, ‘this is me. This is it.’ And I think I’ve gotten there.”
Would you rather be in a starring role, or helping out backstage?
Are you a dog person or a cat person?
CAT. CAT. CAT. I have four.
What movie will you never get tired of?
What is one quote or saying you hear people say often, but you completely disagree with?
"What a coincidence!" There are no coincidences.
What are you most thankful for?
The sky. Not necessarily because I am grateful for the sky itself, but for the way it evokes in me a feeling of deep gratitude for all that is.
“It’s so interpretive. It’s just not something that the human brain readily wraps its mind around in the united states. In other countries, there’s an astrologer in every hotel in India. In the United States, no. I think it would be too frightening for people and even when they saw what kind of tool it was, I feel like there’s no way people are ready for that. People would be forced to wake up. They would be forced to accept that there is something else besides what’s here, what’s now. They would be forced to know that there’s more. And how COOL would that be? Some people may not be super psyched to accept it like I was, though. Some people may be like, ‘No way, get that away from me.’ But it would be amazing to just open the curtain a little bit to let a little bit of light through for people to see.”
If you could find out the absolute truth to one question, what question would that be?
What the heck are our souls doing here, shoved in these bodies???????
“‘As above, so below.’
And that’s the whole idea of astrology, that we’re a REFLECTION of what’s going on up there. That’s what is so cool about it - what’s going on up there is going on within you and me and everyone, but it’s going on within us TOGETHER.”
